AN INNER REVOLUTION

Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. And embrace them. - Rumi

BUDDHA STATUE

In my research, I came across a talk about a palliative caregiver who had been with thousands of people when they were dying. She said that the greatest regret of the dying is, "I didn't live true to myself. I lived according to others' expectations. I lived according to my internalized judge and critic, but I didn't live true to myself." As I navigate working in the wellness industry, this undercurrent of thought seems to be a recurring theme: "There's something wrong with me, I need to do better, to be better." My own inner voice wants to softly embrace the wisdom "You are here, you are needed, and you are perfect." I wish that we motivated ourselves from a place of love and deep inner wisdom. I want to challenge your resolutions to go deeper into the why. Each moment is an opportunity to engage with the life we are currently living, and bring light to the parts of us that feel dark. Take time try to sit in meditation and really listen to your thoughts, explore not what they are, but the theme or feeling behind them. When you arrive, that is when the inner revolution begins.
